Yami Gautam and filmmaker Aditya Dhar had plenty to celebrate at the 72nd National Film Awards, with their film Article 370 emerging as one of the major winners. The film won the Best Feature Film honour, while Yami was named Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance. The awards recognised films certified in 2024.

Speaking at the awards ceremony held in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, on September 22, Yami described the National Award as one of the biggest recognitions an artist can receive. She admitted that she was still processing the honour and trying to absorb the significance of the moment.
