Just when you think the awards season has come to an end, trust Balaji to come up with something new. In fact, the Awards Nite, conceptualised and created by Czarina of the telly world, Ekta Kapoor of Balaji and was presented by Gitanjali Lifestyle, leading manufacturer-retailer of jewellery and other lifestyle products. Gitanjali is also well known for extending support to lifestyle events in the world of fashion, entertainment, culture and sports and boasts of many TV and Bollywood brand ambassadors.

The evening was packed with scintillating performances -- Shah Rukh Khan's heartwarming interaction with his leading ladies like Kajol, Madhuri Dixit, Kareena Kapoor, Sonali Bendre, Sridevi, and Vidya Balan; Kareena Kapoor's tribute to Sridevi and Sonakshi Sinha, Prachi Desai, Ranveer Singh, Ankita Lokhande, Raginni Khanna and Rashmi Desai's latka jhatkas.

Boman Irani, Mona Singh and Sajid Khan kept the evening alive with their crisp anchoring. Mehul Choksi, CMD, Gitanjali Group along with Randhir Kapoor, took to the stage to present the Best Popular Actress awards to Vidya Balan while Nishit Mehta and Santosh Shrivastava from Gitanjali Lifestyle gave away the Glamorous Icon of the year Award to Kareena Kapoor

The Jury Honours went to Udaan for Best Film and Best Director, Hrithik Roshan and Neetu Singh-Kapoor bagged awards for Guzaarish and Do Dooni Chaar respectively. Vidya Balan won the Best Popular Actress for Ishqiya while there was a tie between Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn in the actor category.

The popular Honour for Best Film went to Dabangg, while Rohit Shetty picked up the Best Director Honour for Golmaal 3. This one-of-a- kind award function saw the stars of telly-world mingling with the Bollywood biggies, a rare sight to find; sponsored exclusively by the Gitanjali Lifestyle, the top notch jewellery and lifestyle retailer.
