Salman Khan starrer 'Tiger Zinda Hai' is the highly awaited film of this year. The trailer which was released recently clocked in over 29 million views in one day. The plot of the film revolves around two spies and their mission of rescuing nurses who have been held kidnapped and held for ransom. However, this plot is similar to a Malayalam film 'Take Off' and was on the brink of being remade in Hindi.

According to a report in <a href="http://indianexpress.com/article/entertainment/malayalam/salman-khan-tiger-zinda-hai-stalls-hindi-remake-of-malayalam-hit-take-off-4928377/" target="_blank">Indian Express</a>, director Mahesh Narayan has shelved the Hindi remake because even 'Tiger Zinda Hai' evolves around similar incidents that were grippingly portrayed in 'Take Off', which released earlier this year. The talks for the Hindi remake of Malayalam film was in the last stages. Jet Airways was expected to venture into filmmaking business by bankrolling the Hindi version of 'Take Off', reported Manorama Online. Take off was based on real-life events involving a group of Malayali nurses who were captured when the terrorists of ISIS took over the city of Tikrit, the hometown of former dictator Saddam Hussein, in 2014.
The news caught the attention of the country as everyone was worried about their safety. The film followed the horrifying experience of the nurses and Indian government&rsquo;s efforts led by one daring diplomat, played by Fahadh Faasil. Actor Parvathy Menon played the central character called Sameera, while Kunchacko Boban played the role of her husband, Shaheed. 'Tiger Zinda Hai' is set to hit the screens on December 23. It is helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar.
