Rohan Sippy has postponed the release of his upcoming film, Sonali Cable that stars Ali Fazal and Rhea Chakraborty.

The film was supposed to hit the big screen on October 10, but it&rsquo;ll now release on October 17. This change of date means that Rohan wants his lead actress Rhea to promote the film for some more time, but turns out that Yash Raj Films, which manages Rhea&rsquo;s work, has not allotted Rhea&rsquo;s dates to the filmmaker.

A source close to the filmmaker says, &ldquo;YRF was informed in advance about this possible change of date and in any case, small budget films need to be promoted. So we need Rhea&rsquo;s dates but YRF has not given her dates for a week. It&rsquo;s unfortunate that they are doing this with regards to their talent working for another producer.&rdquo;
Rohan Sippy admits that they are facing problems with Rhea&rsquo;s dates. &ldquo;I don&rsquo;t know if she can promote the film or not. But it&rsquo;s strange that Rhea&rsquo;s management is not reverting to us about her dates. Since she plays the title character, we can&rsquo;t finalise the promotion schedule,&rdquo; he says.
The filmmaker adds that at a time when even superstars don&rsquo;t shy away from promoting their films, young actors should make themselves available for promotions.
&ldquo;This helps their producers create visibility for them. I don&rsquo;t understand how YRF can have double standards. Recently, they pushed ahead Dawaat-e-Ishq&rsquo;s release and I&rsquo;m sure they expected Aditya and Parineeti to promote their film for some more time. It&rsquo;s a given that a film has to be promoted closer to its release. Hopefully, we will get Rhea&rsquo;s dates,&rdquo; he says.
When contacted, Rhea&rsquo;s spokesperson from YRF said, &ldquo;While Sonali Cable is a big and important film for Rhea, she has several contractual commitments that were finalised months in advance. Bank Chor, where she plays the lead opposite Ritesh Deshmukh, is just one of them. She will do her best to promote the film and do all that is required of her.&rdquo;
