After the release, Aamir announced that rather than opting for an OTT route, he would release the film on his YouTube channel. Even now, he is promoting the movie to the fullest and making sure everyone sees it. Ahead of Independence Day, he conducted a special screening of the film with Army officers, and they were moved after watching it.

Talking about the film, it is a typical slice-of-life movie that shows Aamir Khan as an arrogant basketball coach made to do community service after a case of drunk driving. He is to train a team of players with intellectual disabilities. While he underestimates them, they end up teaching some of the most valuable lessons to him.

The actor had organised an event on July 29 and announced about Sitaare Zameen Par's YouTube release. While talking about releasing the film on YT, Aamir had said, “Our plan is to release every film under the Aamir Khan Productions banner on YouTube, after they complete their theatrical run. Each movie will be available at a minimal cost of Rs. 100.”
On the work front, he is all set to make a cameo appearance in Rajinikanth’s Coolie and his appearance has already become talk of the town. Earlier, during the audio trailer launch in Hyderabad, Aamir Khan shared the reason why he agreed to do the film, even if it was a cameo. Aamir said, "Lokesh came to meet me. I didn’t know why he was coming to meet me. He said, ‘It’s for Coolie. I want you to do a role in the film.’ The moment I got to know it’s Coolie and Rajini Sir’s film… after many, many years, probably for the first time, I have said yes to a film without hearing the script.”
