Aditi Rao Hydari features in barely four scenes in Padmaavat. For a long time, the actor had been talking about bagging a role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film. She plays Allaudin Khilji's (Ranveer Singh) wife Mehrunissa. The filmmaker had taken her on board on the recommendation of Jaya Bachchan who reportedly feels Aditi's eyes are "deep, sad and expressive." Sadly, she did not have much to do with Khilji roaring, much to the audience's delight.
