Yash Raj Films is set to create a young love story through a creative collaboration with the master of this genre, Mohit Suri. Following the success of Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain, Mohit Suri joined hands with YRF for a love story. This marks the first film produced by the company’s CEO, Akshaye Widhani.
“Aditya Chopra, the creative force at YRF, is empowering Akshaye Widhani and his leadership team to establish creative partnerships with the most brilliant minds in the Hindi film industry. Adi’s protege, Akshaye Widhani, will oversee this business arm and produce his inaugural film!” a senior trade source discloses this tightly guarded development within YRF.

“The company will produce a young love story that will touch hearts, collaborating with one of the best filmmakers in this genre, Mohit Suri. Mohit has delivered major hits in this genre and will direct this film targeting the youth of the country,” adds the source.
“Mohit has an impressive track record of making soul-stirring romantic films throughout his career and is backed by a banner like YRF, known for producing the biggest romantic films in the country. This combination makes the project extremely exciting,” informs the source.
The source further states, “Aditya Chopra wants Akshaye Widhani to develop a new creative business model, allowing the banner to collaborate with multiple filmmakers who may not have been personally launched and groomed by Aditya Chopra. Aditya will continue to mentor and contribute to the scripts that the studios will produce.”
The yet-untitled film is set to commence filming later this year! YRF and Mohit Suri will announce an incredibly fresh cast for the film, details of which are currently being kept under wraps. Yash Raj most recently backed Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan.
Pathaan, starring Deepika Padukone and directed by Siddharth Anand, revolves around a Pakistani military leader engaging a private terrorist organization to carry out attacks in India. Meanwhile, Pathaan, an undercover Indian agent, is on a mission to establish a specialized unit. The movie also stars John Abraham in the lead role. The film was one of the biggest blockbusters of 2023.
