Emotions have been at the centre of singer and composer Akhil Sachdeva’s musical identity, be it his hit Humsafar in Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017) or Tera Ban Jaunga in Kabir Singh (2019). That remains true with his latest song, Piya Ghar Aaya — Homecoming, in Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2. According to the singer and composer, the number is an expression of his admiration for the actor and the nostalgia surrounding his return to the film franchise after 19 years. 

“It’s not a love song or heartbreak song. It’s an ode to my love for Emraan Hashmi,” Sachdeva told mid-day.
