Ever since third instalment of the film was announced, the audience has been excited to see the trio of Baburao (Paresh Rawal), Raju (Akshay Kumar) and Shyam (Suniel Shetty). A few months back, the film was in hot waters as Paresh Rawal had opted out. Now, after months of speculation, legal battles, and statements from the cast, Akshay Kumar has finally cleared the air.

In an exclusive chat on The Right Angle with Sonal Kalra Season 2, produced by Gautam Thakker Films, Akshay Kumar said, "Nahi, yeh publicity stunt nahi hai. The things went legal, so when legal things are involved, we cannot call it a publicity stunt; it is a real thing.” He further added, “But ab sab kuch thik ho gaya hai. Very soon, some kind of announcement can come. Yes, there were some ups and downs. But now everything is solved, and we are back together, and we have always been together. Yes, that's it!"

For those unversed, in May, reports were rife that Paresh Rawal has opted out of third installment due to creative differences. After the departure, Akshay Kumar, who is also producing the film filed a lawsuit against him, given the impact on production timelines. According to Bollywood Hungama, Rawal had returned the signing amount of Rs 11 lakhs along with 15% interest, and a bit extra, for stepping away from the franchise. However, things seem to have taken a positive turn in recent weeks as he will reprise the role.
About Hera Pheri franchise
The franchise began with the 2000 film Hera Pheri, directed by Priyadarshan. Its sequel, Phir Hera Pheri, released in 2006, was directed by Neeraj Vora. The third installment is reportedly being helmed by Priyadarshan once again.
On the work front, the iconic trio will feature in Welcome To The Jungle, which is all set to release year end. While Priyadarshan is working on Bhoot Bangla with Paresh Rawal and Akshay.
