Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar on Tuesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss his upcoming film 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' which is said to be based on Modi's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Akshay Kumar took to Twitter to share his experience of meeting PM Modi. He shared a picture along with the Prime Minister and wrote, "Met PM Narendra Modi and got the opportunity to tell him about my upcoming 'Toilet-Ek Prem Katha'. His smile at just the title made my day."

The film revolves around the need for toilets for sanitation in India and this message is conveyed through a love story in the film 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' which also stars Bhumi Pednekar.

As Akshay Kumar gears up for the release of 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' themed around PM Narendra Modi's pet project, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, we hear <a title="another film on the sanitation campaign is in the works" href="http://www.mid-day.com/articles/akshay-kumar-toilet-ek-prem-katha-revathy-good-morning-sunshine-same-story-sanitation-bollywood-news/18137178" target="_blank">another film on the sanitation campaign is in the works</a>.
'Good Morning Sunshine', helmed by Sanjay Nag, stars Revathy, Rituparna Sengupta, Tejaswani Kolhapure and Shweta Tripathi, with a cameo by Shabana Azmi. What's more, the film also features Priyanka Bharti, who set off a social revolution by fleeing her marital home since it didn't have a toilet.
In the last few years, Akshay Kumar's image has undergone a transformation from that of an action star to one who chooses films which are socially relevant and delivers a message. 'Special 26', 'Airlift', 'Baby' and the upcoming 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' are cases in point.
There's also '<a title="Pad Man" href="http://www.mid-day.com/search/pad-man-all" target="_blank">Pad Man</a>' that Akshay Kumar is doing. The film is a biopic on a man who introduced affordable sanitary napkins for the benefit of women.
