Akshay Kumar and his wife Twinkle hosted a lavish Diwali party at their Juhu bungalow last night. From those present, it was evident that the guestlist was restricted to really close friends.



Initially, the couple had decided not to have a party, as things have been rather hectic with Akki running around from Dubai to Delhi to promote his film Action Replayy. But Khiladi Kumar loves playing cards and felt Diwali wouldn't be complete without gambling. Sou00a0 a party was planned at the last minute.u00a0

The guestlist
Initially, the Kumars wanted to restrict the card party to close friends such as Farah Khan and Shirish Kunder, Sajid and Wardha Nadiadwala, Riteish Deshmukh, Action Replayy director Vipul Shah and his wife Shefali, Sajid Khan, Anu and Sunny Dewan. But when the news of the patta party got around, the guestlist had to be expanded. "Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor-Saif Ali Khan, Vivek Oberoi-Priyanka, Deepika Padukone, Arbaaz Khan-Malaika Arora and Abhishek (Gattu) Kapoor were added later," said a source.

Twinkle planned the menu and the party's setting on her own. Says a guest, "Tables with flowers were laid out in the garden. Candles were lit all around to enhance the setting. Soothingu00a0 music playing softly added to the ambience, as did the sounds of the waves from the sea outside."
