Filming for Fanney Khan has consumed Anil Kapoor to such an extent that the actor was forced to skip the Mauritius Film Festival recently, where he was to be awarded for his contribution to Indian cinema and Hollywood.

A source says, "Anil could not take a break from the shoot. His dates had been locked and any delay would disrupt the schedule. The portions being filmed involve all the actors, including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rajkummar Rao, and hence, Anil had to be there."
The source adds that Kapoor has only recently started understanding his character and hopes to avoid any interruptions that may affect his act. Kapoor tells mid-day that for him, work is priority. "I'm humbled by the invitation, but, had to honour my professional commitments."
