Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma and cricketer Virat Kohli may have tied the knot secretly in Italy, but now the couple is ready to meet their friends and well-wishers from their respective industries. If they had a fairytale wedding, the reception ceremony of Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli and actor Anushka Sharma's wedding reception in Delhi on December 26 was more of a traditional affair with a select few including Prime Minister Narendra Modi among the invitees. After the lavish affair in the capital, the couple has hosted an extravaganza for their near and dear ones from the film and cricket fraternity. The invites sent out were eco-friendly and in lieu of environmental conservation. The couple has been extremely mindful about sending proper invites to their respective fraternities and the invites include a sapling. According to The St. Regis, Mumbai official website they claim to be the country's tallest hotel tower and boast of 395 guest rooms including 27 suites and 39 presidential suites. Astor Ballroom will be the setting for Virushka's Mumbai reception and according to the hotel, it is located on Level 9. The pillar-less Astor Ballroom can accommodate up to 300 guests. The wedding reception begins from 8 pm and will go on till 11 pm. The reception invites have been extended to the creme-de-la-crème of both, Bollywood and cricket world, namely Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Mahesh Bhatt, Kunal Kohli amongst others. The excitement around what the couple is going to wear is at its peak. What we predict is that the couple will stick to Sabyasachi.

One of the most talked-about couples in both Tinsel town and cricket pitches who tied the knot in a private wedding ceremony in Italy on December 11, appeared for a photo-op at Hotel Taj Palace's Raja Baugh area. The couple was expected to appear for the event at 8 pm but like all good things take time they turned up at a little late but were a sight to sore eyes. With a neatly-tied bun encircled in a mogra gajra, Anushka wore a traditional red and gold saree designed by Sabyasachi with a heavy palla and jadau jewellery; chuda and sindoor in place. Virat appeared dapper in a black achkan and white churidaar and heavily embroidered shawl with a golden border in black mojris. Virat helped Anushka onto the stage as they posed for the shutterbugs as fans flanked the streets for the two.
Interestingly, the decor of the alfresco stage matched with the trousseau and sherwani they wore on their D-Day in Italy. The stage glimmered with the decoration likened to a glass-studded palace in place and the burning white candles atop crystal fixtures added an old-wordly charm to the whole set-up in the fine crescent night. The reception ceremony was high on security and strictly for family and dignitaries in the city, with around a dozen of Delhi Police personnel in plain clothes guarding. The function in the capital will be followed by a Mumbai reception on December 26, likely to be attended by friends and colleagues of the newlyweds. The security detail at the Rani Baugh section of the hotel was heavier as Modi was expected to attend. Last evening, Anushka and Virat met Modi and invited him to the reception. Delhi Lieutenant-Governor Anil Baijal is also expected to attend. On the wedding day, the couple in a statement said they will shift to their new residence in Worli, Mumbai later this month. After the reception, the couple will fly to South Africa where Kohli will be prepping up for the upcoming series.
The actor will spend the New Year's Eve with her husband before flying back to Mumbai to start the shooting of Aanand L Rai's film with Shah Rukh Khan.
