Legendary singer Asha Bhosle’s sudden demise has left the nation and the entire music fraternity in shock. The music icon passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at the age of 92 due to multiple organ failure. She passed away a day after being hospitalised at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. Following the demise, Riteish Deshmukh’s Raja Shivaji anthem 'Chhatrapati', which was scheduled to release on April 13, has now been postponed as a mark of respect.

Raja Shivaji anthem postponed after Asha Bhosle's death


On X, Raja Shivaji's production house Jio Studios issued a statement announcing that the Chhatrapati anthem has now been postponed. "The voice that ruled our hearts for decades has fallen silent today. With the passing of the legendary Asha Bhosle, we mourn the loss of a golden chapter in music. As a mark of respect, we are postponing the release of the Raja Shivaji anthem, ‘Chhatrapati.' A new date will be announced soon," the post read. 



The Chhatrapati anthem's music has been composed by Ajay-Atul and is choreographed by Remo D'Souza.

Earlier, annopuncing the song lauch the makers wrote, "Due to your immense insistence, we're bringing it tomorrow, Raja Shivaji Anthem 'Chhatrapati' Music: Ajay-Atul Dance Director: Remo D'Souza ‘Our King, Our Pride‘ ‘Raja Shivaji’ Releasing in cinemas from 1 May 2026! Marathi and Hindi"

"Your love has been overwhelming and we’re truly grateful With utmost respect, we present to you a humble tribute to India's Greatest Warrior King! Raja Shivaji Anthem 'Chhatrapati' releasing tomorrow!," the post added.

Chand Mera Dil song launch postponed

Earlier on Sunday, the title track of Chand Mera Dil, starring Ananya Panday and Lakshya Lalwani, which was initially scheduled to release on April 13 was also postponed. It will now arrive a day later. Dharma productions confirmed the decision to postpone the song launch through an official statement on social media. The statement read, “In honour of a legacy that has shaped generations, and with deep respect for the passing of the legendary Asha Bhosle, we are pushing the release of the Chand Mera Dil title track by a day."

The statement added, “This decision has been made as a mark of heartfelt respect and remembrance for Asha Bhosle, whose lasting impact on music continues to inspire generations."

The makers also announced that the song will now be released a day later, on April 14.
