As Assam battles one of its worst floods in six decades, singer Papon is urging governments to look beyond relief measures. According to the Guwahati-born singer, the answer lies in investing meaningfully in long-term solutions.

Speaking to mid-day, Papon said that watching the devastation unfold every year in his home state has been agonising. “It is heart-breaking to see families lose their homes, livelihoods, and everything they have built, in a matter of days,” he shared.
