Atlee has clarified that Jawan 2 is not on the cards in the near future and dismissed rumours of directing Don 3 with Shah Rukh Khan. The filmmaker also spoke about reuniting with SRK later and shared updates on his ambitious next project with Allu Arjun

Atlee and Shah Rukh Khan’s 2023 release Jawan wreaked havoc at the Indian box office as it shattered several records. While the filmmaker has announced his next with Allu Arjun, audiences are eagerly anticipating Jawan 2. In a recent interview, Atlee clarified that the sequel is not on the cards anytime soon. He also quashed rumours about Don 3 with SRK.

In an interview with India Today, the filmmaker praised Shah Rukh Khan and said, “I think all my heroes are great players. But Shah Rukh sir, he’s also into sports—KKR. He’s an inspiration for me, basically. He’s into cinema, he plans for a film, he’s in a shooting schedule, and parallelly he has some time for his coach, his team, and his planning. So I got inspired by him. That’s why I called him my partner.”
When asked about plans to reunite with SRK in Jawan 2, Atlee shared, “I think Shah Rukh sir and I will definitely work on something. But Jawan 2, I personally feel, maybe some years later—not the immediate next. But definitely Shah Rukh sir and I will look into something when it comes in its flow.” Talking about the possibility of taking over Don 3, the filmmaker stated, “Oh, oh! That’s a rumour. I also read it. No, no, nothing like that.”

AA22xA6 is touted as one of the most ambitious projects to be made in Indian cinema. Industry insiders predict that the makers might spend a whopping Rs 350–400 crore just on visual effects. While Deepika has been officially announced as the leading lady of the film, actresses like Rashmika Mandanna, Mrunal Thakur, and Janhvi Kapoor are speculated to be part of the project.
