Singer and rapper Badshah was recently caught in a controversy after announcing the Dallas leg of his Unfinished USA Tour 2025. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) wrote to the rapper, noting that his tour was linked to a Pakistani company. The film body sought clarification from Badshah, given the ban imposed by them on Pakistani artists and technicians following the Pahalgam terror attack in April 2025.

Badshah's team reacts

On Monday, August 18, Badshah's team issued an official statement, denying such an association. They also clarified the singer's stance on the matter. The team said, "Badshah and his management team unequivocally confirm that the Unfinished USA Tour 2025 is being conducted through a US-based event agency operating under fully transparent contractual terms. The tour is exclusively managed by Manish Sood of Intense Entertainment, who acts as the sole promoter and point of contact, handling all operational aspects including venue bookings, sponsorships, accommodations, and logistics."

It further added, "Badshah remains steadfast in his mission to use music as a bridge for cultural exchange and unity, ensuring his work remains entirely independent of geopolitical influences. The artist is not privy to nor involved in any financial arrangements beyond those explicitly outlined in his performance contract. In a commitment to transparency, Badshah’s legal counsel has provided comprehensive clarification to FWICE on 16th August 2025, reaffirming his professional integrity and allowing him to dedicate his full attention to his artistic endeavours. This statement underscores Badshah’s dedication to maintaining ethical standards while continuing to inspire global audiences through his music."

Notably, the promoters of the event also denied any association with Pakistani organisations. Further, they assured that if needed, they will fully cooperate with FWICE for further investigation.

FWICE's letter to Badshah

FWICE wrote a letter to Badshah seeking clarification from him, "Dear Mr. Badshah, It has come to our attention that you are scheduled to perform in an upcoming event Badshah Un-Finished Tour at the Curtis Culwell Centre in Dallas, USA, on the 19th of September 2025, which is reportedly being sponsored by 3Sixty Shows, a company owned and operated by Pakistani nationals."

The letter further read, "As you are aware, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), in alignment with the directives issued by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, has clearly instructed all artists, performers, and technicians in the Indian entertainment industry to refrain from engaging in any professional collaborations or performances with Pakistani nationals or organizations connected to Pakistan. These measures are in place considering the continuing acts of terrorism and hostile activities directed against India from across the border."
