Last week, as the British Academy of Film & Television Arts (BAFTA) announced its Television Awards nominations, Rob & Ramesh Vs earned a spot in the nominations for the Entertainment Performance category. For costume designer Rick Roy, it’s a surreal moment as he featured in an episode of the comedy series. He said, “How often does one get the opportunity to be part of a project that gets nominated at the BAFTAs? Getting this nomination has taken our excitement to another level.”
Roy was initially roped in to style comedians Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan for a Bollywood-themed episode. However, the director decided to cast him in the episode, which sees the two hosts getting a crash course in Bollywood.
Roy added, “Many from the South Asian diaspora in the UK said they felt connected to their roots, thanks to the way Bollywood was represented.”
