Bipasha Basu an Indian super model turned actress was born on January 7, 1979. The Calcutta based commerce graduate model burst into the glamour stage when she won Ford Supermodels Contest. This was at the age of 17, and she was flown to New York by the Ford people. She later did a lot of ad campaigns, ramp shows and endorsed various products.

She first accepted a role with grey shades in the movie Ajnabee (2001)directed by Abbas-Mustan's. The movie also starred Bobby Deol, Akshay Kumar & Kareena Kapoor. In the following year Bipasha Basu starred in Vikram Bhatt's thriller Raaz. The film was a massive success and became the biggest hit of that year. It also established her firmly as an actress to watch out for in Bollywood. The Bong bombshell Bipasha has featured in Sonu Nigam's Video 'Tu' from his album Kismat and also in UK rapper Jay Sean's video Stolen.
