His Netflix outing, Abroad Understanding, has received a positive response from fans in India as well as overseas, and now, actor-comedian Vir Das is set to take his show to six Indian cities.
Vir, who is also touring the world with his show, will arrive in the country to perform in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata and Pune. He says he decided to turn the show into a stage performance on public demand. "While working on it, I had kept my expectations minimum, but the response to the comedy has been overwhelming. Since I was getting several messages and e-mails from viewers asking if Abroad Understanding will ever be performed live, I decided to go ahead with it. It will take place in September," says the 37-year-old.
The comedy series is currently streaming on Netflix across 100 countries. Apart from the series' highlights, Das will incorporate his experience of touring the world, and dabble in topics like Indian politics and Islam-o-phobia.
