Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan expressed shock over the three blasts in Mumbai this evening. "We are very shocked with the news of the blast. Our prayers are with the people affected. It is important for us Indians to stand strong and tell the perpetrators of terrorism that they cannot shake us. We believe that justice will be done. We pray for the victims and their families," said Aishwarya.
The 37-year-old actress was in the national capital with husband Abhishek Bachchan to accept the honour Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters from the French government. But the ceremony was postponed after the news of the blast broke.
"This isn't the time to celebrate. Me and my family felt it was correct to request the French ambassador to postpone the ceremony to some other time," said Aishwarya. The honour was conferred to the actress in 2008, but she couldn't accept it then due to some personal problems.
"Bomb blasts in Mumbai .. !! God ! I hope people are safe," Amitabh Bachchan said on microblogging site Twitter.
