In a bid to make Durban the new hotspot for Bollywood, telly actress Rakshanda Khan&rsquo;s move to form a bond between the Indian and South African film folk by hosting an awards show is finally underway. <img alt="Priyanka Chopra and Sridevi" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/sep/Priyanka-Sridevi.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 500px;" /> Priyanka Chopra and Sridevi The event to be held on September 6 at the Durban ICC arena will have several film and telly folk in attendance. Durban&rsquo;s King Shaka airport already has its share of fans waiting to get a glimpse of the arriving stars. <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/sep/Nawaz.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 508px;" /> On Wednesday, Madhuri Dixit flew in along with Dia Mirza and Waheeda Rehman. Rakshanda&rsquo;s best buddies Apoorva and Shilpa Agnihotri along with Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda Shaikh besides Ravi Dube and Sargun Mehta too arrived on Wednesday. Apoorva and Shilpa were spotted taking keepsake photogs at the airport with the awards posters. The beachlined city of Durban has larger-than-life posters of the Bollywood stars attending the maiden South Africa India Film and Television awards. Priyanka Chopra who is slated to perform will be arriving just before the event, as she is busy with Zanjeer. Karan Johar, who is hosting the event, is also slated to arrive just in time for the starry night. After his arrival in Durban, Ranveer Singh decided that he too would like to get jiggy at the show. He joins Madhuri and PC for the big performances. With tickets for the show starting at 500 rands (approx. Rs 3,000), it aims to cater to the vast Indian diaspora in South Africa. Though there are several other Indian film awards galas happening overseas, Rakshanda and her event partner Kedar Gawde hope to make this an annual event in Durban. The event will also honour South African film and telly stars. Among the nominees on the best actor list are Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Manoj Bajpayee while Priyanka and Sridevi feature in the best actress list. Vying for the best film honour is Kai Po Che, OMG-Oh My God and Barfi! With the local population heavily addicted to Bollywood, it is proving to be a treat for them.u00a0
