What happens when the year's biggest superhero action extravaganza is pitted against three films with no big names to boast of? As anticipated (or apprehended by some), 'Captain America: Civil War' dominated the box office while Bollywood releases 'Traffic', 'One Night Stand' and '1920 London' struggled to find takers.

Sources say the Chris Evans-starrer had the third biggest opening weekend for any Hollywood film here in 2016, surpassing the lifetime collections of its first two instalments put together.
Trade expert Amod Mehra says, "Once again, Hollywood scored over Bollywood. 'Captain America' had a bumper weekend while all the Hindi releases failed to make any impact. Among the three films, '1920 London' (third part in the '1920' horror franchise) fared best, but did not collect enough to make it to the 'safe' zone.&rdquo;
'One Night Stand' managed to rake in just about Rs 2.3 crore while Manoj Bajpayee-starrer 'Traffic', which is based on a true incident, collected Rs 2 crore.
In fact, heldover hit 'Baaghi', starring Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor, saw more footfalls than the fresh releases. "'Baaghi' continued to be rock steady even in its second weekend. It closed its first week collections on a glorious note to emerge as the third highest opener of the year after Akshay Kumar's 'Airlift' and Shah Rukh Khan's 'Fan'. The business in mass centres was simply excellent," says trade guru Taran Adarsh.
Meanwhile, Jon Favreau's 'The Jungle Book' inched closer to the Rs 175-crore mark by the end of its fifth weekend.
