From working on Hollywood projects to making red carpet appearances, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra have been striding the West for a couple of years. The two are often pitted against each other, the latest instance being their Met Gala outing.
While PeeCee got a thumbs up from the fashion police for her Ralph Lauren trench coat dress, Dippy's white satin gown was termed 'lukewarm' by many. However, it became one of the most Googled attires from the event. Deepika features at number five on the Google Trends list, with the likes of Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid and Katy Perry.
Dippy had chosen a satin ivory slip gown by Tommy Hilfiger and was styled by Elizabeth Saltzman. "Having worked with Deepika for the premiere tours of xXx: Return Of Xander Cage, I'm not surprised that she is being searched and praised on her look because people here have been talking about her elegance," says the stylist.
Saltzman adds that people loved Deepika's winged eyes, which she accessorised with diamond danglers and a hairband. "It's always fun to dress her up. She is accommodating and open to ideas that makes our work easier."
