Among the many highlights of Dhurandhar (2025) were the old Bollywood songs that composer Shashwat Sachdev gave a modern twist to. He has amped it up in the sequel, which has five retro tracks — late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s Dil Pe Zakhm Khate Hain (1977), Hum Pyar Karne Wale from Dil (1990), Tamma Tamma from Thanedaar (1990), Tirchhi Topiwale from Tridev (1989), and Mujhe Zindagi Ne Maara from Angaaray (1986). There’s also a hat-tip to Shah Rukh Khan’s Baazigar (1993) as a scene has the characters singing the title track.
