Diana Penty is all set to stun in an all-new avatar in Detective Sherdil opposite Diljit Dosanjh. She will be seen as a no-nonsense, razor-sharp detective in the thriller as she shares the screen with the ever-entertaining actor and singer Diljit. The trailer of the upcoming film was launched today, June 10th 2025, and it packs a perfect punch, blending in mystery, comedy, and a whole lot of cat-and-mouse chaos in the right proportions! The film is a dark comedy directed by debutant director Ravi Chhabriya. Along with Diana Penty, Diljit will also be seen in a never-seen-before avatar in it, bringing forth mystery and wit.

The trailer features punchy one-liners, thrilling twists, and Diana and Diljit’s Tom-and-Jerry-style chemistry, which is already impressing fans. Both actors take on the roles of detectives, looking every bit the part. ‘Detective Sherdil’ is the story of a unique detective who is tasked with solving a murder case that is far from ordinary. The entertaining blend of suspense and mystery with wit and humour is what makes this film unique from other detective dramas. Notably, ‘Detective Sherdil’ marks Ravi Chhabriya’s first directorial venture, after assisting Ali Abbas Zafar on projects like Sultan, Bharat and Tiger Zinda Hai.

About Detective Sherdil

The film stars Diljit Dosanjh, Diana Penty, Boman Irani, Chunky Panday and Ratna Pathak Shah. It also features Banita Sandhu and Sumeet Vyas. The film has been written by Ali Abbas Zafar, Sagar Bajaj and Ravi Chhabriya, marking Ali Abbas Zafar’s second collaboration with Diljit Dosanjh after the acclaimed Jogi.

The film will not be released in theatres but will begin streaming on OTT from June 20, 2025. Looking at the trailer, Detective Sherdil promises to be a rollercoaster of laughs, clues, and complete chaos, like never seen before.
