Diljit Dosanjh is very much a part of Border 2
Diljit Dosanjh has been making headlines for some weeks now. Ever since the trailer of his film Sardaar Ji 3 was released, he has been facing flak for starring Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. Although the makers announced that the film would not be released in India, several internet users as well as film bodies called for a ban on all of Diljit Dosanjh's projects, including Border 2. Now, amid all the controversy surrounding Diljit Dosanjh and his casting in Border 2, the singer has quashed all rumours in style. Diljit announced he is still very much part of Border 2 via his latest Instagram post.
Diljit Dosanjh confirms being a part of Border 2
Diljit Dosanjh posted a reel on Instagram, where he is seen stepping out of his vanity van, flaunting the army badges with his name. In the caption, he simply wrote, 'Border 2' and included the iconic Sandese Aate Hai music from Border in the background of the reel.

The reel confirms that Diljit is still very much a part of the project, also featuring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Ahan Shetty. Other actors like Suniel Shetty, Rashmika Mandanna, Sonam Bajwa, Vinali Bhatnagar, Paramvir Cheema, Nishan Singh, Guneet Sandhu, Mouni Roy, and Sai Dibyajyoti Behera.
Diljit Dosanjh Sardaar Ji 3 controversy
Diljit Dosanjh had been facing criticism for casting Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his film Sardaar Ji 3, especially in the wake of the Pahalgham attack on April 22, 2025. The actress expressed anti-national views following the attack, leading to many calling for action. The makers decided not the release the film in India owing to the ongoing tensions, stating that the film will only be released overseas. Nevertheless, that wasn't enough as many expressed their frustration and demanded that Diljit Dosanjh be banned from all of his projects.
On June 25, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) wrote letters to Bhushan Kumar, the co-producer of Border 2, and actor Sunny Deol, asking them to end their collaboration with Diljit. However, neither of them has yet replied to the letters. When we reached out to the makers of Border 2 - Nidhi Dutta and Bhushan - our efforts weren't met with a response at the time of going to press. FWICE President BN Tiwari further noted, "If the team continues to shoot with Diljit, that would show how they are supporting his cause."
Following the letter, a Times of India report had earlier claimed that a source close to the production told them, "Diljit only shot for 3-4 scenes. Makers were contemplating replacing the actor, as right now they can easily reshoot those scenes. The makers are directly handling this matter, and Ammy's name cropped in the discussion." The report also claimed that following Diljit's exit, actor Ammy Virk has emerged as a frontrunner.
