Fashion moved out from the closed confines of exclusive get-togethers and elegant evenings during the presentation of an unconventional bridal collection by designer Monika Chaudhary and Neeru Khullar at the 'Blenders Pride Punjab International Fashion Week 2010 in association with Gitanjali Lifestyle' in Ludhiana recently.

The two designers had tied up with Ek Prayaas, a social action group that works to bring children with special needs into the social mainstream.

Monika and Neeru's collection was an amalgamation of the old and the newu00a0-- modern wedding trousseau merged with traditional wedding garments; sarees and luxurious lehengas.

These were embellished with intricate modern and traditional embroidery; each exquisite piece was at once classic and contemporary, appealing to young and old alike.

Adding a regal touch to the bold colours and shimmering fabric were some magnificent pieces of Giantti jewellery from Gitanjali. Elegant and opulent, the ornaments enhanced the splendor of the duo's bridal collection.

And while the creations appealed to the eye, the presence of some of the children who benefit from the Ek Prayaas programme in the grand finale certainly appealed to the heart. It was undoubtedly Fashion for a Cause.
