Female lead for Dekh Bhai Dekh will be selected via a reality show!

The leading lady of the big screen adaptation of Dekh Bhai Dekh will be found through a reality show. Adhyayan Suman has been signed up for the lead part and the winner of the show will be paired opposite him. The film is being produced by Anand Mahendroo, who also directed the TV show with the same name.

30 female contestants will vie for the role. They will be taught everything from action, dancing, make-up and diction and then the winner will find herself in the film.

Anand sheds light on his concept for the hunt of a leading lady, "It will be a nation-wide talent hunt and we will travel across six main cities. The idea is to find a girl who has the urge to learn and the talent to express herself."

The girls will be selected and then trained by six celebrity experts from different backgrounds. "We will teach them everything from make-up to diction, action, dance, etc. The viewers will get a behind-the- scenes look into what it takes to be an actor. Each week girls will be eliminated based on the markings by the judges, the audience votes and my take on their performances."

The show goes on air by July and Mahendroo plans to keep all the original characters of the TV show in the film. "We will be keeping all the popular characters from the show and also introducing new ones. Since we are showing a generation leap, there will be new additions as well."

Anand Mahendroo is making a big screen version of his hit tv show Dekh Bhai Dekh but he doesn't have rights to the title. That hasn't stopped him from sending a legal notice to Vivek Sudarshan of Search Film Productions, who have registered the title. Anand hasu00a0 approached the Association of Motion Pictures & TV Programme Producers (AMPTPP) and questioned them about giving away the title of a show he produced some 20-odd years ago.

Says an industry source, "Vivek is the producer of the Gracy Singh-starrer Dekh Bhai Dekh. He has even got a censor certificate and is amused by Anand trying to pressuring them to drop the title." 'Dekh Bhai Dekhu2026again' published in HiTLIST on April 4 mentions how Anand is planning to remake his TV show as a film with Shekhar and Adhyayan Suman in the main roles.

But Vivek's film has been complete for over three months before the story even came out.Says Vivek, "I registered the title about a year back. If he had called me then, I would have give it up. But after spending Rs 4 crore on this film and now that I am planning to release it next month, he has sent me such bizarre letter. He is claiming it is his trademark, how can it be when I legally own the title?"
