The singer finds her inspiration in Amy Winehouse, who passed away two years back. Shalmali told CS, “Amy Winehouse has always been my idol. She inspires me every single day.

She was a free spirit and her songs were fearless, inhibition-less and without pretense. Needless to say, her melodies were just the right amount of Jazz mixed with Hip Hop and RnB. Her voice is one of the most unique voices in the world. She will always be a star!”
