Newbie Furqan Merchant is on cloud nine. His film Identity Card has bagged three awards at international film festivals.

He says, &ldquo;I am so glad that my film is getting such a great response and bagging awards everywhere it&rsquo;s being screened.&rdquo; He adds, &ldquo;The character I play in the film has more expressions than dialogues and that too with veteran actors like Saurabh Shukla, Brajendra Kala, Raghuvir Yadav among others.&rdquo;
Furqan considers it the start of his journey in the film industry and wants to explore various facets of his acting prowess. &ldquo;I am deeply inspired by Shah Rukh Khan and always wanted to act in an emotional film like Devdas.&rdquo;
There&rsquo;s also been a trend of biopics and Furqan seems to be bitten by the bug. &ldquo;I would love to star in a biopic of a great personality. It&rsquo;s exciting when such roles challenge you so much,&rdquo; says Furqan.
Identity Card releases on August 29.
