Gol Maal revisited

Tusshar Kapoor to enact Amol Palekar's character in remake

Tusshar Kapoor will feature in the remake of Hrishikesh Mukherjee's Gol Maal that starred Amol Palekar. The comedy directed by Satish Kaushik has Tutu Sharma as producer.

A source reveals, "After seeing Tusshar's comic performances in Rohit Shetty's Golmaal Fun Unlimited and Golmaal Returns, the actor was approached for the remake. He will essay a double role.

The remake will have minor changes in the script with more twists and turns. Tusshar will get a makeover to suit the nerdy character look. The female lead has yet to be ascertained."

Adds the source, "This is the first time Tusshar will be seen in a double role."



When asked about the project, Tutu maintains, "I am not remaking Gol Maal." He further claims, "I have approached Satish Kaushik for but it is for another project."

On the other hand Kaushik says, "The project is in the pipeline but nothing has been finalised yet."

Tusshar says, "I have heard the script and am keen on doing it, but nothing is finalised."

Incidentally, Kaushik had directed Tusshar's debut flick. Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai.

About Gol Maal

Ramprasad (Amol Palekar) finds a job with a finicky man Bhavani Shankar (Utpal Dutt) who believes that a man without a moustache is a man without a character.

Bhavani Shankar is also against any of his employees indulging in recreation of any kind.



When his boss catches Ramprasad at a match, Ramprasad is forced to invent a twin brother the clean-shaven Laxman Prasad to save his job.

Chaos reigns when Bhavani's daughter falls in love with the clean-shaven Laxman Prasad and insists on marrying him. A fake mother and a hilarious chase are the other enjoyable features of this comedy.
