Southern belle Parvathy took Bollywood by storm with her acting in the film 'Qarib Qarib Singlle'. She romanced actor Irrfan in the film and the audiences in splits over her perfect comic timing. She also starred in the Malayalam film 'Take Off' whose plot is said to be the inspiration behind 'Tiger Zinda Hai'.
There have been quite a few raised eyebrows over the content of the film, as both films deal with the issue of abduction of nurses and a rescue operation by intelligence agencies. Talking about this newfound controversy, actress Parvathy spoke about the film in detail to <a href="http://www.firstpost.com/entertainment/parvathy-on-tiger-zinda-hai-vs-take-off-bollywood-vs-mollywood-and-sexual-assault-in-film-industries-4222569.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">First Post</a>&nbsp;, " I'm shocked and numb by now seeing stories that are essentially of a woman made into a man's from the time I can remember in Malayalam. In Tamil too. So it doesn't surprise me. What surprises me is the lack of faith in female actors and women in general, this ridiculous notion that men cannot empathise with women and something creeps up under my skin when I hear the term female-oriented. Do you say male-oriented for male-oriented films? No. Why not? The more you degenderise human stories, the more relatable it is. So it is disappointing that they couldn't have done the movie with a female lead. That would have been refreshing and taken us to a whole different height with regard to how women are going to be in cinema."
Director Mahesh Narayan shelved the Hindi remake of 'Take Off' because even 'Tiger Zinda Hai' revolves around similar incidents that were grippingly portrayed in 'Take Off', which released earlier this year. The talks for the Hindi remake of Malayalam film was in the last stages. Jet Airways was expected to venture into filmmaking business by bankrolling the Hindi version of 'Take Off', reported Manorama Online. Take off was based on real-life events involving a group of Malayali nurses who were captured when the terrorists of ISIS took over the city of Tikrit, the hometown of former dictator Saddam Hussein, in 2014.
The news caught the attention of the country as everyone was worried about their safety. The film followed the horrifying experience of the nurses and Indian government&rsquo;s efforts led by one daring diplomat, played by Fahadh Faasil. Actor Parvathy Menon played the central character called Sameera, while Kunchacko Boban played the role of her husband, Shaheed. 'Tiger Zinda Hai' is set to hit the screens on December 23. It is helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar.
