Nothing can stop Amitabh Bachchan from shooting for Kaun Banega Crorepati. The quiz show’s host has fractured one of his toes, and despite the pain and the discomfort, he is on the set at Film City wearing “socks that look like shoes” to conceal his injury. Big B shared that it broke at the base, and he has resorted to buddy taping, the practice of bandaging the fractured toe to an uninjured one, which helps to support, protect, and realign the one that is hurt. Bachchan added that the plaster will remain for a month.

Jungle mein mangal
Salman Khan kicks off the new season of Bigg Boss today. He returns to host the 15th edition of the reality show, which has a jungle theme. The garden area is a lush forest with thick foliage, flowers and barks. There is a reflection of the natural habitat in the living areas with floral prints and animal structures. Omung and Vanita Kumar, who have designed the set, say, “It has a surreal vibe that will sometimes comfort and sometimes play spoilsport.” Several names of housemates are doing the rounds, including Jay Bhanushali, Karan Kundrra and Vidhi Panday.
It’s showtime
Now, Priyanka Chopra Jonas is Broadway-bound. She and singer husband Nick Jonas will co-produce Douglas Lyons’s play, Chicken & Biscuits. “The magic that you can only get from a live production has excited me all my life. Nick has been on Broadway since he was seven, so following his lead on this has been an amazing experience,” said PeeCee. The family comedy, helmed by Zhailon Levingston, is currently in previews. It opens at Circle in the Square in Manhattan on October 10.

Divya Dutta’s book, The Stars in my Sky, recounts her experiences with leading industry names who “brightened” her film journey. The actor chronicles those special moments, including winning an acting scholarship with Sonali Bendre to sharing a vanity van with Juhi Chawla and her bond with Shabana Azmi. The book, published by Penguin Random House, also talks about her interactions with Irrfan, Amitabh Bachchan and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. It releases on October 25. Coffee-lover Satyajeet Dubey carts his coffee-making machine to the set of Aye Zindagi, co-starring Revathy. Unit hands often indulge in piping hot cups from what they call “Dubey cafe.” The actor says, “Revathy ma’am and I talk about everything under the sun as we sip on our coffee.” On Friday, it was International Coffee Day, Dubey had a reason to down some more cups.
Car number plate trouble
Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani-starrer Shershaah is in trouble for using the car number plate of Kashmiri scribe, Faraz Ashraf, in the film. In one of the scenes, the license plate of a vehicle driven by militants has the same registration. They are shown stepping out and firing at Indian soldiers. Ashraf is taking legal action against the producers of the Vikram Batra biopic, including Karan Johar. The scribe, who is from Baramulla, claims his “life is in danger.” He posted pictures of his car and the one used in the war drama. Ashraf wonders how the makers were so “irresponsible” to use any registration without thinking of the consequences.
Aditya, Anil teaming up?
The buzz is that Aditya Roy Kapur and Anil Kapoor feature in the remake of The Night Manager based on John Le Carre’s 1993 novel. Kapur reprises Tom Hiddleston’s character Jonathan Pine in the 2016 British espionage series. Kapoor will step into Hugh Laurie’s role as a weapons dealer, who disguises himself as a business tycoon in the six-part series. The two earlier teamed up in Mohit Suri’s action-thriller Malang (2020). Last year, the remake grabbed attention as Hrithik Roshan was to feature in the drama, which would mark his digital debut. But the superstar opted out of the project earlier this year.
Harsh notes
Ranu Mondal’s rendition of Sri Lankan singer Yohani’s Manike mage hithe track is not proving to be music to the ears. A section of netizens is telling her to refrain from singing. “There’s a time when everything must be stopped, and Ranu didi this is the time. My eardrums are about to burst,” a user wrote. “Not everybody can sing like Yohani,” another comment read. In 2019, Mondal became a social media star after a video of her singing Ek pyaar ka nagma hai in Ranaghat, West Bengal, went viral. Himesh Reshammiya made her croon for his film, Happy Hardy and Heer (2020). Now, Yohani, who is touring India, rules.
