Set pe masti hi masti

mid-day had earlier reported that the popular Masti franchise is set to return with Mastii 4, reuniting Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani. Directed by Milap Milan Zaveri, the film apparently takes a ‘reverse Masti’ route, exploring extra-marital escapades from both male and female perspectives, described by insiders as a “comic battle of the sexes” (Why should boys have all the fun? July 9). After reporting that Tusshar Kapoor joined the comedy’s lead cast, we have learnt that Arshad Warsi, Genelia Deshmukh, and Nargis Fakhri, along with Shaad Randhawa, Elnaaz Norouzi, and Ruhi Singh have joined in too, making it the franchise’s biggest ensemble yet. Shot over 40 days in the UK, it is now in post-production phase, and the makers are targeting a November 21 release.

A high-octane thriller is in the works at Netflix India, set for a 2026 première. The working title of the project is Ikka, which will be directed by Siddharth P Malhotra. We have learnt that the film brings together a powerhouse cast led by Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna. Originally rumoured to be a remake of Death Sentence (2007), sources confirm that the project is now an original story crafted to showcase Sunny in a new avatar. Filming is scheduled to kick off next month in Mumbai, with the project serving as a quick outing for the filmmaker before he takes on his passion project Kamal Aur Meena.

Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder

Zeenat AmanZeenat Aman

Veteran actor Zeenat Aman has reflected on her image and the way beauty was perceived during her time in films. She candidly confessed that she never found herself beautiful. In a note on Instagram, she wrote, “I never found myself beautiful, but I was told I was, and I learnt to accept it.” She noted that her looks often overshadowed her work, adding, “People saw the glamour, but very few looked beyond it to notice the effort and the craft.” She also stressed the need to move past narrow beauty standards, especially for women in cinema, and encouraged younger generations to value individuality over appearances. On the work front, Zeenat was last seen in the Netflix series, The Royals.
