Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh join the growing list of Bollywood stars with an address in Alibaug. On Monday, the couple visited the local registrar’s office for the paperwork (left). Their presence created a buzz, and as soon as word spread, fans gathered outside to get a glimpse of the cine idols. Singh preferred to do a cover-up act in a hoodie. The plot they have bought in the coastal hamlet houses two bungalows and a coconut and betel nut grove. Earlier in the day, Padukone had shared a picture of Singh asleep in the car and called it her “morning view.” The two took off for Alibaug early to complete the required formalities of their new possession. Last month, Padukone reportedly purchased a serviced apartment in an under-construction high-rise in hometown Bengaluru. The actor-producer believes in investing in real estate.

On Monday, Vidyut Jammwal and Nandita Mahtani confirmed their engagement, about a week after the couple’s pictures from their Taj Mahal visit sparked rumours. The action hero proposed to the fashion designer while rappelling down a wall at a military camp near Agra. Jammwal is shooting in the vicinity for the second instalment of Khuda Haafiz (2020). Mahtani was earlier married to Delhi-based businessman Sunjay Kapur. After they went their separate ways, Kapur got hitched to Karisma Kapoor in 2003, but their marriage too ended in a divorce.

The unit of the Salman Khan-starrer Tiger 3 has moved to Cappadocia from Istanbul for the next shooting stint in Turkey. Salman Khan appears to be captivated by the ancient city and shared a photo of the skyline, which he captioned, “Sunrise.” Nephew Nirvan, who is one of the assistants on the set, went for a hot air balloon flight as Cappadocia is considered the best destination for it. Mother Seema Khan posted that she is missing her sonny boy.

Nargis Fakhri caught up with Main Tera Hero (2014) co-actor Anupam Kher in New York. She captioned the picture, “Lunch with the legend.” Kher is touring the US with his Zindagi Ka Safar stage shows in which he shares stories of his film journey. Fakhri, who broke off with chef beau Justin Santos, is looking at Bollywood anew.

Saif Ali Khan is no longer associated with the Go Goa Gone franchise as a producer. Khan, who also starred in Raj-DK’s 2013 zombie thriller, backed the film, along with Dinesh Vijan. “I’ve got nothing to do with it anymore. I sold the rights and moved on,” said Khan, who played Boris, a Russian mafioso-turned-zombie hunter. Last year, Raj-DK announced that they were planning a sequel with aliens instead of zombies. Kunal Kemmu, Vir Das and Anand Tiwari were said to be reprising their roles in the second outing.

Ever since Nick Jonas stepped out in St Louis in a shirt that can best be described to be made from a Solapuri bedsheet, netizens cannot keep calm. The singer, who is part of the Jonas Brothers’ Remember This One concert tour, triggered a meme fest. A section of social media users was quick to call him, “Nick bhau” and “aapla manus.” They wondered if wife Priyanka Chopra Jonas had carried the bedsheets, which he found “so good” that he wanted to “wear” them. “We have the same bedsheet as your shirt,” wrote one of PeeCee’s fans. “You wore a blanket, people are searching for the designer,” posted another. When his fans wanted to know where to buy it, desi netizens told them, “Welcome to Solapur in Maharashtra.”

First glimpse
Singer Neeti Mohan and actor husband Nihaar Pandya shared the first glimpse of their son, Aryaveer. “Meet our jigar ka tukda. Since the time he has come into our lives, every single day feels magical. Be it morning or night, what Aryaveer is doing is the breaking news in both our families. There’s too much excitement and love pouring from everywhere. Feel blessed indeed,” wrote Mohan. The couple welcomed their bundle of joy in June.
Fitness goals
Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor began the week with motivational fitness posts. It was “progress over perfection” for Bhatt during her yoga session. Kapoor is encouraged with the appreciation that he has been receiving for his physical transformation. He is planning to share the “wealth of knowledge” that his trainer and food curators have to offer through his social media posts so that people can benefit from it. “One should have long-term planning to stay fit and not look at short-term results,”
says Kapoor.
Green gifts
Akriti Kakar, who espouses the green cause, is making sure to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi in an eco-friendly way. This year, the singer is gifting potted plants as Ganesha’s prasad to friends and family who came to seek blessings of Bappa instead of sweetmeat boxes, modaks and fruits. Says Kakar, “There’s no greater joy for me. We also make the idol at home. I design and decorate it. My mother spent over a month making a papier-mâché Ganpati. The family gets together to make the festivities environmentally safe.”
