As Esha Deol stepped out to promote Pratap, the actor named her late father, Dharmendra, as her ideal husband. At the film’s trailer launch, she spoke about the importance of standing by family through life’s ups and downs. “Maine kareebi se sirf papa ko dekha hai as a father and husband, so I would say Dharamji,” she said, adding that for Dharmendra and Hema Malini, supporting each other was crucial in their marriage.

A name close to her heart
Esha has adopted the name Esha Dharmendra Deol, adding her late father’s name to her own. In an interview, she described the decision as deeply personal, saying she wanted to keep him with her in her life and everything she does. The change comes after her separation from businessman Bharat Takhtani, whom she married in 2012. The former couple announced their separation in February 2024.
