Randeep Hooda was reportedly hospitalised at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai after he fainted while riding a horse, and subsequently suffered injuries. He has been advised bed rest. The actor has been on a weight loss programme for his next film, Swatantra Veer Savarkar, based on the life of Indian politician Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. Hooda has lost 22 kilos for the role under the guidance of his nutritionist-sister, Anjali Hooda Sangwan. In what may best be considered professional hazards, the programme has apparently caused severe depletion of muscle mass. This isn’t the first time that the actor has undergone such a dramatic transformation. He had lost 18 kilos within the span of one month while filming Sarbjit, and was reportedly only consuming coffee and apples, while filming it. Last year, the actor had suffered an injury while shooting  Radhe, and had to undergo knee surgery.

When Asha needed help

Asha Parekh recalled the time she contracted typhoid during the shoot of Teesri Manzil and Baharon Ke Sapne. Despite her illness, she continued to shoot until, one day, she fainted on the sets. Parekh said: “I was shooting for two different movies at the same time. Since I was working round the clock, I got infected with typhoid. However, I still insisted on doing the shoot because a grand set was created for the song. One day I fainted, and the shoot came to a halt. I was advised bed rest for 20 days. And because only the beginning of a song had been shot, the rest had to yet be filmed. The whole film was black and white, but we shot this song in colour. It was beautiful.”

While Anushka Sharma was often blamed for Virat Kohli’s poor performance on the field, it appears that the cricketer too would express anger towards the actor when his professional career took a hit. Speaking to a colleague during an interview, he said, “I was not able to perform because of my desires. I realised that I needed to be true about my game. If I was the worst player, I needed to accept it. I was cranky and snappy, and that wasn’t good for my wife and other family members. So I had to take responsibility and put things into perspective. When I am vulnerable, I am not playing well, I am the worst player around, [and] I have to accept it. I can’t be in denial.”

Who would Yami play?

Reacting to a question on whose biopic she would like to showcase on the big screen, Yami Gautam responded stating, “The most beautiful one would be, I think Madhubala ji. I have always said this in my make-up room, because I used to watch her songs at night. I have the habit of watching either old songs or interviews at night. It could be of Madhubala ji or Smita ji [Patil]. How well-spoken they were! I wish, one of those actors were still alive. There was so much more that was left to be seen, and I wish she was here today, because she’s one of my favourite actors.” On the professional front, Gautam has projects like Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga, OMG2 and Dhoom Dham in her kitty.

Shedding light on the place of sexual education in society, English Vinglish actor Sumeet Vyas said he was reluctant to talk about the subject with his parents.
“In today’s age and time, it is important to speak about safe sex education and the repercussions. While growing up, in our schools and homes, it was not a topic that was widely discussed. In fact, it was not discussed at all. Even today, I don’t think I have that equation with my parents where I could discuss sex. We weren’t so liberated when we talk[ed] about it,” said the actor, 39.

Salman Khan shared that he would like to work with Bigg Boss 16 participant Priyanka Choudhary in a future project. This isn’t the first time that Khan has suggested that the telly actor holds promise. In a previous episode, he referred to her as “heroine material” and suggested that she had the scope to excel in the industry. Meanwhile, Sajid Khan’s sister and filmmaker Farah Khan, who had entered the house in the family week, tagged Choudhary as the Deepika Padukone of season 16.

Hero Gayab Mode On actor Abhishek Nigam is set to replace Sheezan Khan in Ali Baba: Dastaan-e-Kabul after the latter was taken into custody. Nigam will reportedly start shooting next week, even though an official announcement is yet to be made. Khan was arrested after his co-star and former girlfriend Tunisha Sharma killed herself during the show’s shoot. While reports had suggested that the show would take on a different narrative, and no replacements would be sought, it appears, the makers have had a change of heart. There has, however, been no new s about who would step in to play the role of Mariam, which was being portrayed by Sharma.
