A fortnight in Ladakh

Superstar Salman Khan was spotted at Mumbai airport on Monday as he jetted out of the city. Aligning with mid-day’s August report, which stated that Battle of Galwan will roll in Ladakh in September (Chalo Galwan, Aug 9), the actor headed to the region for the shoot of the Apoorva Lakhia-directed war drama. The 15-day shoot is expected to cover crucial sequences against the rugged backdrop of Ladakh. Salman’s airport look seems to have given away a bit about his final look in the film as he donned a military-green jacket with Air Force insignias, paired with his aviator sunglasses, perfectly completing the look of a military officer ready for action. We have learnt that this schedule will capture some of the most important portions of the film and then the team will continue shooting the rest of the film in a studio in Mumbai. Chitrangda Singh has also joined the unit for key scenes alongside Salman. The film will chronicle the India-China military clash that took place in June 2020, with Salman stepping into the shoes of Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu.

Finally, the reports of Sonam Bajwa joining Border 2 have been confirmed. The Punjabi star will be paired opposite Diljit Dosanjh in the much-anticipated sequel to Border (1997), slated for release on January 22, 2026 (Punjabi aa gaye, oye!, June 14). The makers announced the news on social media, writing, “Welcoming Sonam Bajwa to the Border 2 family, opposite Diljit Dosanjh. A tale where grace and glory unite.” Directed by Anurag Singh, the film also features Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan in key roles. Fans are excited to see Sonam and Diljit reuniting on screen as they have mesmerised the audience with their performances in popular Punjabi films like Sardaarji franchise, National Award-winning Punjab 1984 (2014), and Honsla Rakh (2021), among others.

The Rangeela (1995) girl, actor Urmila Matondkar, marked 30 years of her breakthrough film with a moving note on social media, calling the movie “a grand celebration of life.” The actor, now 51, shared a video of herself dancing to the iconic track Rangeela Re. Directed by Ram Gopal Varma and co-starring
Aamir Khan and Jackie Shroff, the film was a box office hit and ranked among the year’s top grossers. Remembered as much for its story as for AR Rahman’s chart-topping soundtrack, it continues to hold a special place in Hindi cinema. “Every scene brings back an instant, childlike smile,” she wrote, adding that even today the film “has the power to transport you back to that very first moment. When you fell in love with its magic.”
