Salman Khan and Chitrangda Singh’s upcoming military drama ‘Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace’,  earlier announced as ‘Battle of Galwan’, is reportedly staring at another release delay. Based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash, the film has allegedly run into clearance hurdles over its sensitive geopolitical subject. While the makers are still hoping for a theatrical release later this year, industry sources believe the window is fast closing. “The issues are yet to be resolved. Even if they are resolved soon, it will now be difficult to secure a good release slot,” a source told Variety India. If the hurdles continue, the war drama could arrive in 2027.

Delay timeline:
Originally slated for April 17, 2026, ‘Maatrubhumi’ has since been postponed multiple times and is now eyeing a late-2026 release
