Shahid Kapoor is on a roll ever since Kabir Singh (2019) with Gowtam Tinnanuri’s Jersey, the contemporary twist of the mythological Karna, directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, a show with Raj-DK and now, a digital film with Ali Abbas Zafar in his kitty. Not many know that the digital film will be the official adaptation of Tomer Sisley’s Nuit Blanche (Sleepless Nights). Rumours suggest that Kapoor will be playing a cop chasing drug lords. With the lead actor locked, the makers are now seeking an A-list female actor opposite him. This seems like the best phase of the Kapoor’s career, wouldn’t you agree?


Filmi fest


Sidharth Malhotra and Shershah director Vishnuvardhan will fly off to attend the opening of the first-ever Himalayan Film Festival that is set to be held in the Union Territory of Ladakh.

The festival, to be inaugurated by Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur, will be held from September 24 to 28. Screening of popular films will be held at the Sindhu Sankriti Auditorium, Leh, along with workshops and master classes hosted by filmmakers from the Himalayan region.

Let’s dance, baby!

Dance reality shows are a dime a dozen on television. Close to wrapping up Super Dancer, Geeta Kapur, Terence Lewis and Malaika Arora are now prepping for the second season of India’s Best Dancer. Hoping to see contestants up the ante, Arora says, “The talent last season was superlative, and I cannot wait to see how evolved the contestants are this season.” It’s a never-ending cycle, the contestants who win people’s hearts will soon be seen as choreographers training the kids on the next season of Super Dancer. Not that we mind!

Saluting the Armed forces

After vacationing in the Maldives and Ladakh, Sara Ali Khan is now in  Jammu and Kashmir. While enjoying the picturesque surroundings, the actor bumped into some Indian Army soldiers. She posted an Instagram Story thanking the defense forces for their service. “So thrilled to meet the heroes that make us feel us safe, secure and protected. Thank you for all that you do for us. Jai Hind,” she wrote. After her one-day training with the Veerangana Force for her Discovery+ show, guess the actor has new-found respect for the Armed forces and everything they do.

Family union on screen

Uncle-nephew jodi, Venkatesh and Rana Daggubati will be sharing screen space for the first time in Netflix’s upcoming crime-drama series Rana Naidu — the official adaptation of the American drama series Ray Donovan. “I am a huge fan of Ray Donovan,” says Venkatesh, who is thrilled to join forces with Rana. He posted a picture of the series and captioned it, “I’ve seen @ranadaggubati grow up right in front of me from a young boy to a fine actor. But in Rana Naidu, he better watch out.” Adding to the excitement, the Baahubali actor says, “It’s lots of special firsts for me — working with my uncle and my first with Netflix in long-form storytelling [format].” Whether they live up to the expectations or not, time will tell.

Missing daddy dearest!

Sharmila Tagore and Soha Ali Khan with daughter Inaaya visited the grave of Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi on the 10th death anniversary of the late Nawab. Taking to Instagram, Soha, who is currently spending time at her grand ancestral property Pataudi Palace, posted pictures in which she is seen praying at the grave, with the caption, “You are never dead to us until we forget you.”

Bollywood’s Godfather

Varun Dhawan’s niece, Anjini Dhawan is prepping for her big Bollywood break and backing the star kid is reportedly Karan Johar, who has propelled the career of many in the past. Rumours suggest that her debut vehicle will be as big as Varun’s Student of the Year (2012), for which she has been taking dance lessons. There are also reports of Anjini being offered close to five scripts till date, but she is yet to zero in on her first project. In all probability, she may just go with whatever Johar offers her, right?
