Actor and comedian Vir Das has shared how Imran Khan was signed on for Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, marking the latter’s return to the big screen after an 11-year hiatus. Posting screenshots of their text exchange on Instagram, Vir wrote, “True story! We thought of the maddest thing and made Imran do it.” The messages show Imran asking, “Any place I could cameo?” to which Das replied, “Absolutely!” Imran responded, “Sounds like fun. I’d love to be a part of it.” The film, backed by Aamir Khan, is slated for release on January 16.

Actor Saumya Tandon has joined the cast of Sooraj Barjatya’s upcoming film Yeh Prem Mol Liya, which stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari in the lead. Saumya, who recently earned praise for her performance as Ulfat Rehman in Dhurandhar (2025), is set to take up an important role in the film. “Her addition strengthens the ensemble and brings emotional depth to the story,” a source close to the project said. While the makers are yet to reveal details about her character, insiders hint that her part will be “crucial to the narrative”.

Actor Yami Gautam Dhar is earning widespread praise for her performance in courtroom drama Haq, which premiered on Netflix recently. Several industry colleagues lauded her work on social media. Amid the acclaim, an earlier interview of the actor has resurfaced, in which she spoke about feeling “unwelcome” in the film industry. Speaking to Galatta Plus, Yami had said, “I won’t deny that there have been times when you feel unwelcome.” She added that family support, including husband Aditya Dhar, helped her through such moments.
