Rakhi Sawant is being trolled after she claimed that she wanted Alia Bhatt or Vidya Balan to play her in her biopic
Vidya Balan and Rakhi Sawant
Soon after she claimed she wanted Alia Bhatt or Vidya Balan to play her in her biopic, Rakhi Sawant was trolled by social media users. One user wrote, “If they [acted] in her biopic, then there will be no biopic of them.” Another assumed that Sawant, known for dramatising situations to grab attention, was indeed cracking a joke. Yet another suggested that Dolly Bindra would be more suited for the part. Sawant had previously claimed in a video that did the rounds online that while she had contemplated playing the part herself, she believed either of the two actors would “excel in portraying me”. “Both of them stand as paragons of talent in the Bollywood industry. I must emphasise that if Rakhi Sawant’s biographical film ever sees the light of day, it will authentically depict [my] trials and tribulations.”
Period action-drama, King of Kotha, headlined by Dulquer Salmaan, will have its digital premiere on Disney+ Hotstar. The streaming platform shared the announcement on its official X page. It has yet to reveal the date of release of the big-budget Malayalam movie. It follows the story of an alcoholic gangster, and received mixed reviews upon its theatrical release on August 24. It also stars Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Shabeer Kallarakkal.
Just as it did at the time of its theatrical release, Karan Johar’s Rani Aur Rocky Kii Prem Kahaani earned appreciation from fans upon its OTT release as well. As the Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh-starrer opened to a new set of viewers, fans widely appreciated Singh’s acting chops, and applauded the writers for crafting a bunch of nuanced situations. While some criticised the fact that the lead actors lacked chemistry, and expressed surprise over the glorification of extramarital affairs in the film, news feeds have generally been brimming with positive reviews for the film.
Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha Prabhu-starrer romantic drama Kushi will stream on Netflix from October 1. The Telugu-language film is directed by Majili helmer Shiva Nirvana. Netflix shared the digital premiere date of the film on X. “Kushi is coming to Netflix in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi on October 1,” the streamer posted on its Netflix India South page. The film marks the second collaboration between Prabhu and Deverakonda after the 2018 Telugu biographical drama Mahanati, based on the life of actor Savitri.”
