&ldquo;It was a natural progression from the blog,&rdquo; says Chondamma Cariappa, founder of The Sole Sisters. The footwear blog hasrecently launched its maiden footwear collection, titled&nbsp;The Ikat Collection.

&ldquo;I had always planned to start The Sole Sisters&rsquo; line of shoes. I wanted to design and create the kind of footwear I would love to wear,&rdquo; adds Cariappa.
The collection comprises sandals, each of which are made from 100% genuine leather with hand-tied and hand-dyed Ikat fabric.
&ldquo;There are two designs on offer currently. Each design is available in four colours. They are a limited edition series and are made to order,&rdquo; says Cariappa, adding that she used Ikat because she loves its asymmetrical, graphic and random patterns, which look beautiful. &ldquo;No two sandals, even in the same colour end up looking the same,&rdquo; states Cariappa.
Both designs are priced at R1,800. &ldquo;Having just launched the shoes, they will be&nbsp;available for the next two months,&rdquo; she signs off.
