On Independence Day, Vivek Oberoi appeared to be in an extremely emotional mood. He posted this message on a social networking site: "Sometimes in life we have to say goodbye to the person we love without wanting to.

But that never means that we've stopped loving them or our heart has stopped to care about them.

Sometimes goodbye is just a painful way to say I love you... Sometimes it's time to leave... even if you don't know where to go from here... because the worst thing in life is trying to hold on to someone who doesn't want to be held on to.." OMG, our hearts have melted and we are dewy-eyed.

FK: IT'S OKAY

Tonight the main cast of Life Partner will be going to PVR Juhu at 9 pm to tell the audience to go and watch the film.

Fardeen Khan says, "We are going there to dispel apprehensions about swine flu and create awareness that Life Partner is releasing in theaters from today. We will tell people that it's okay to come out and watch the film.

Though we haven't got good reviews, the collections have been fantastic. It's a film which we are proud and confident of and we want public reactions."

The multiplex will also hold a pan-India contest where the cast will give away prizes to the winners.

SELLING TICKETS

Shahid Kapoor's fans are in for a treat. The actor will be making the rounds of the city's major multiplexes from 11 am onwards today selling tickets of his latest release.

Normally actors go to theatres and watch films with the audience but Shasha will be selling tickets at the counter.

He explains, "This film has been a labour of love for me and the whole team. We were quite sad when audiences in Mumbai and Pune couldn't see the film along with the rest of the world.

Now that the film is releasing in Mumbai from today I am going to do all that I can to support it."

The Movies I Loved Growing Up

The Dostana director lists his pick of flicks...

Satte Pe Satta: It's clearest in my memory because it was the first film we saw as a family at home on our brand new VCR player. I remember going crazy about the lead actor's double role in the film and the background score for his character, Babu. Am playing it in my head as I speak. One of my favourite scenes in the film is when Ranjeeta jumps up from her wheelchair and starts walking when Babu (with grey-green contacts) is about to kill her. Wonder if it really works?
