During a recent interview, the actress shared a shocking anecdote from the sets of her debut film Chandralekha, wherein she starred opposite South superstar Nagarjuna.
When Isha Koppikar recalls Nagarjuna slapped her 14 times
During a recent interview with Hindi Rush, the actress revealed that she got slapped multiple times by her co-star. Sharing the BTS moment behind the scenes, she said, "I got slapped by Nagarjuna. I was a fully committed actor that I want to perform in a real, method way. So when he was slapping me, I couldn’t feel it. This was my second film, so I told him, ‘Nag, you really slap me.’ He said, ‘Are you sure? No, I can’t.’ I said, ‘I want that feeling. I am not feeling it right now.’ So he slapped me, but softly."

Isha Koppikar further explained that she was unable to capture the anger and rage that were required for the scene, and the camera wasn’t catching her expression properly. Hence, she says, "In an attempt to look angry, I got slapped 14 times," she added.
The 48-year-old actress further revealed, "I literally had marks on my face. Bechara mujhe leke baitha, bola sorry (Poor guy, he apologised to me). I said, ‘I asked for it, why are you saying sorry?’"
Isha Kopikar career
Isha Koppikar made her debut with the Telugu-language comedy drama film Chandralekha, opposite Nagarjuna. The film was helmed by Krishna Vamsi and also featured Ramya Krishna. It is a remake of the 1997 Malayalam film.
Later, Isha appeared in the Tamil film Kaadhal Kavithai, which earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut - Tamil. She made her Bollywood debut in 2000 in the film Fiza, wherein she appeared in a supporting role in the film headlined by Hrithik Roshan and Karisma Kapoor. She later appeared in films like Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat, Pinjar, Kyaa Kool Hai Hum, Don, Salaam-e-Ishq: A Tribute to Love, Darling, among others. She was last seen in the web series named Suranga and Dahanam.
