Janhvi Kapoor is among the most beautiful actresses in Bollywood. While many actors shy away from admitting to undergoing cosmetic procedures, Janhvi recently got candid about it and shared how her mom, Sridevi, guided her. She also cleared the air about “buffalo-plasty” and explained why she believes in being transparent about the same.

During her appearance on Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle, the actress said, “I don’t believe in gatekeeping. I was one of the young girls who was very impressionable with the onset of social media and seeing everyone being judged and looking a certain way. And I don’t want to perpetuate to young girls this idea of perfection. I’m a big believer of ‘you do you,’ do whatever makes you happy. I would be very happy to be a completely open book about things.”

She added, “I think I have been very intelligent, conservative, and proper about what I have done. Of course, I had the guidance of my mom, and I’d like to share that. Also, as a cautionary tale, because if a young girl sees a video like this and decides mujhe bhi ye buffalo-plasty karna hai, and if something goes wrong, that would be the worst thing ever. I think transparency is important.”

She admitted that her mother never wanted her to act and reflected on the late superstar’s protectiveness towards her. She said, “We were giving everyone so much access. And at that point, mom was still very strict about, ‘I don’t want you to be an actress.’ So she was like, ‘What’s the point? It’s fine if people see her with body hair and two chotis and a mustache.’ It was just the worst combination of things, specifically for me, because my teenage years coincided with the onset of the social media boom.”

The Param Sundari actress also shared a deeply personal poem for Sridevi: “Bachi thi phir achanak ek din woh haq kho diya, jo laad mangti thi usse muh mod liya, apni awaz kho ke apni maa ki awaz mein baat karti hu, issi jariye mein unke paas bhi rakhti hu.”

She also heaped praise on rumoured beau Shikhar Pahariya’s horse-riding skills. She recalled, "I remember when Shikhar was playing polo and Ranveer was standing with me and he was like, ‘He looks great on a horse’. And I was like yeah.”

On the work front, Janhvi will next be seen in Peddi with Ram Charan. She is reportedly also a part of Allu Arjun and Atlee’s mega-budget film.
