Kailash Kher is one of the established singers of Bollywood. He has lent his voice to songs like Teri Deewani, Chand Sifarish, Saiyyan, among many others. The singer was recently in Gwalior for a special show, which turned chaotic as audience members broke through the barricades and surrounded the stage. At one point, Kailash had to stop the show and warn the crowd.

Kailash performed on the occasion of late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birth anniversary. At the event, Kailash crooned some of his popular songs. While Kher was performing, the crowd went out of control as they first jumped the barricades and then climbed onto the stage to get close to the singer.

To control the situation, a frustrated Kher was seen saying to the crowd, "If anyone comes close to us or to our equipment, we would stop the programme immediately. We appreciated you so much. However, at this moment, you are behaving like animals."

The singer was also seen requesting senior police personnel to come close to the stage and control the situation. However, there were not many security personnel spotted to bring the crowd under control. As a result, the playback singer stopped the programme midway and left the venue.

This is not the first time Kher has faced such a situation. In 2023, he was allegedly attacked during a concert in Karnataka when two men reportedly threw a water bottle at him, demanding that he sing a Kannada song.

Kailash Kher on current music trends

Known for his powerful voice and meaningful songs, singer Kailash Kher has long been a beloved figure in Indian music. From spiritual hits like Bam Lahiri to emotional tracks such as Yuhin Chala Chal from Swades, Kher's music has always resonated deeply with listeners.

Speaking to ANI at an event, the singer shared his views on contemporary music and why it often fails to connect with audiences. When asked why many of today's songs feel meaningless, Kher said, "These days, people want everything fast, happiness, peace, fun, and they want it quickly. I don't understand this formula... Peace never comes in a hurry. Earlier, there was art and simplicity. When it was presented like a craft, it touched people's hearts."
