Kalki Koechlin opened up about her divorce from filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, saying it wasn't easy. She revealed that it was hurtful to see him with someone else during the initial days of separation

Actress Kalki Koechlin, who was previously married to filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, recently opened up about their heart-breaking divorce and their cordial terms with each other post-separation. The couple met on the sets of her debut film Dev D, and tied the knot in 2011 at her maternal home in Ooty. However, later in 2013, they announced their separation and officially got divorced in 2015. The Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani actress opened up, revealing that it was not easy for either of them during the initial years of their separation.

During a recent interview with Zoom, Kalki revealed that there came a point when Anurag and she felt, "We need to stay out of each other’s lives." She adds, "It was hurtful to see the other person with somebody else; the reminders were just so strong." Post the divorce, the ex-couple continue to share a cordial relationship with each other.
She revealed that it took them a few years to get there. She noted that they didn’t immediately form a bond, and that they maintained some distance initially, which helped. "Now we are in a good place and we are able to catch up once in a while," she adds.
Notably, Kalki was also present at Anurag’s daughter Aaliyah Kashyap’s wedding with Shane Gregoire, which took place in a traditional Hindu ceremony in Mumbai on December 11, 2024.

Nevertheless, both of them moved on and Kalki is now married to Guy Hershberg, an Israeli musician. The couple, welcomed their daughter, Sappho, in February 2020, before the couple got married.
Talking about Guy, Kalki says, "He’s Jewish. Part Russian, part Polish, part Iranian. I’m of French origin, born and brought up in India. My first name is Hindu, my last name is Protestant. We have a daughter with a Greek name to whom we speak in Hebrew, French, Hindi and Tamil. We don't follow any religious rites at home, but we share our different customs and food. We fight every day about whose turn it is to do the dishes, and we always split our dessert in equal parts."
They reportedly met at a petrol station on the way to the Dead Sea, located between Israel and Jordan. Their bond grew as they continued talking over the years, and eventually they decided to have a baby together.
