Actor and self-proclaimed critic Kamaal R. Khan, who was arrested and sent to police custody in a firing incident in the Oshiwara area of Mumbai, has been granted bail on a personal bond of Rs 25,000. He has spoken for the first time about the firing incident and claimed he has never broken the law to date.

KRK on firing incident

KRK, now out on bail, shared his side of the story. While reacting to the police action and the case, he said it is for the court to decide what is right and wrong. He also mentioned that he has been holding a "licensed weapon" for years and has "never broken the law to date."

"The police must have had some doubts, so things unfolded this way. But who is wrong and who is right, I cannot say. It is for the court to decide," he told ANI. "I have held a gun licence for 22 years and have not broken any law to date," the actor added.

About KRK firing incident

Last week, Kamaal R. Khan was arrested by the Mumbai Police following questioning in connection with the firing incident. According to the police, KRK was initially taken into custody for questioning and later arrested after he admitted during questioning that the firing was done with his licensed gun.

The incident took place on January 18. When arrested, the actor told the police that he did not intend to hurt anyone. In his statement to the cops, Khan revealed that he was testing the gun after cleaning it and fired into a large mangrove forest in front of his house.

Advocate Nagesh Mishra, representing KRK, described the case as "fabricated."

"The entire case is fabricated. Kamaal Khan has been falsely implicated in this case. The contention of the police is that I [KRK] fired a bullet from my [KRK's] gun. But it is not correct. The correct thing is that the bullet has a maximum capacity of 20 metres, and the place where this gun was fired was at a distance of 400 metres. It is not possible. Kamaal R. Khan is sent to police custody till January 27. Many big names in Bollywood are instigating the police to implicate him in this case," he said.
